Zach Anderson [1985-2006]

Zach was born to Rory and Toni (Aamoth) Anderson on July 22nd, 1985 in Williston, ND. He was raised and educated in Williston, graduating from Williston High School with the class of 2003.

During his youth Zach was involved in many different sports, baseball, football, cross country, but he enjoyed wrestling the most. As a young boy he traveled with his parents and his two brothers Derik and Dustin to many wrestling tournaments participating in freestyle, folk style, Greco, Sombo, and as a referee. As the boys grew so did their reputation for refereeing and they became known by many as the A-team. Where one brother went the others followed. The A-team enjoyed many state and national tournaments wrestling and officiating together. Zach was a member of the Montana AAU Wrestling Association, USA Wrestling, Team ND Wrestling, Team Montana Wrestling, Williston Taekwondo/Judo and served as a Montana AAU Youth Delegate.
Zach had a wonderful way with people. He greeted you with a 100 watt smile and a firm handshake. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling, and racing to name a few. Zach was killed on January 29th, 2006 while on a Pioneer Drilling rig near Flaxton, ND.
The Zach Anderson Memorial Wrestling Scholarship was set up to help students continue their education. We wish each applicant good luck with their schooling and wrestling careers.
Zach is dearly loved and missed every day by all of his family, cousins, and friends.
